Tea Kovačević wins first senior trophy at Pyramid Cup
Tea Kovačević, the top European junior, won the third International Women's Pyramid Cup 2026 in Visoko, Bosnia and Herzegovina. This victory marks the first senior trophy of her career.
In the final held at Ravne 2 Park before an audience of over 400 people, Kovačević defeated fellow Bosnian player Sara Mikača with a score of 2:1. Kovačević took the first set 6:2, but Mikača responded by winning the second set 6:3. The match was decided in a super tie-break, which Kovačević dominated with a 10:0 score.
Prior to the final, Kovačević secured her place by defeating Ema Burgić 2:0 in the semi-finals. Mikača reached the final after her potential opponent, Tena Lukas, withdrew from the competition. The awards ceremony included representatives from the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Visoko City Council, the Tennis Federation of BiH, and the International Tennis Federation (ITF).
