More than 800 children diagnosed with autism participated in a special holiday program organized by the TEAbraçar Centres of Diagnosis and Rehabilitation in Nova Iguaçu, Brazil. The initiative, called “Celeiro do TEAbraçar,” provided a farm‑themed environment where the children interacted with live animals—including rabbits, chickens, ducks, sheep, and a goat named Fred—and engaged in sensory activities such as milking a cardboard cow, collecting eggs, fishing for emotions, puzzle solving, word building, shadow matching, a picnic, and a sensory garden.

The program was designed to reinforce therapeutic goals, targeting motor coordination, language development, perception, social interaction and autonomy. Municipal Health Secretary Luiz Carlos Nobre Cavalcanti highlighted that the activities combine care, development and humanised support. TEAbraçar director Luana Soares described the sessions as fun, emotionally engaging and infused with affection, while psychopedagogue Cláudia Valesca said the farm theme helped transform therapeutic stimuli into play, strengthening language skills.

Participants, including six‑year‑old Yan Arthur, expressed enthusiasm for the animal‑based activities, and families noted continued benefits at home.
