Teacher arrested for allegedly endangering nonverbal students in New York

Ibrahim Mohammed, a 54-year-old teacher from Hyde Park, New York, has been arrested following an investigation into an incident at Abilities First in Dutchess County. The nonprofit organization provides services to over 1,300 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

New York State Police report that the investigation began after a report on August 5 involving two nonverbal students. Authorities allege that Mohammed pinched the two students. He has been charged with two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and was issued an appearance ticket for the Town of Hyde Park Court.
