Teacher associations in Ecuador and Uruguay announce new leadership

New leadership has been established for teacher associations in Ecuador and Uruguay.

In Ecuador, Edgar Murillo Párraga has been elected President of the Teachers' Association of the ‘Luis Arboleda Martínez’ Technical Higher Institute. His administration aims to strengthen the educational community through dialogue, respect, and increased participation, focusing on the needs and proposals of the teaching staff.

In Uruguay, Paula Cáceres Rodríguez has been re-elected as president of the Lavalleja branch of the Association of Teachers of Uruguay (ADEMU). Her upcoming term involves addressing challenges such as the reduction of teaching positions in the Lavalleja department, violence within educational institutions, and mental health issues affecting educators.
