Bronwen James faces trial for sexual activity with student

Bronwen James, a 30-year-old physical education teacher, is appearing at Winchester Crown Court facing four charges of sexual activity with a 16-year-old student from Bitterne Park School in Southampton.

Prosecutors allege that James exploited her position by engaging in a flirtatious relationship with the student via Snapchat. The court heard that the pair met in her car and subsequently at her home, where they allegedly had sexual intercourse on multiple occasions while watching Wimbledon on television.

Evidence presented includes messages where James reportedly referred to the student as ‘Number 8’, implying he was the eighth male she had slept with. The student testified that while the encounters initially felt ‘great’, he now recognizes the situation was wrong. James denies the charges, claiming the student was incited by another pupil to make the allegations.
