Team Australia announces squad for 38th America’s Cup

Team Australia has announced its seven-member squad for the Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup, scheduled to take place in Naples in 2027. Led by Head of Sailing Tom Slingsby, the team includes Luke Parkinson, Tash Bryant, Tom Needham, Jason Waterhouse, Sam Newton, and Kinley Fowler.

The roster features a high concentration of elite talent, including Olympic medalists, America’s Cup winners, and SailGP champions. Collectively, the group holds 24 world championship titles and 13 SailGP championship titles. The announcement follows a simulator training block on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, where the crew practiced communications and decision-making for the AC75 class.

Supported by the Royal Prince Edward Yacht Club and backed by John Winning Jr and family, the campaign is managed by CEO Grant Simmer and Head of Performance and Design Glenn Ashby. The Louis Vuitton Cup Challenger Selection Series is set to begin on May 22, 2027, ahead of the main America’s Cup match in July 2027.
