Team Esbjerg faces coaching changes amid Champions League campaign

Team Esbjerg is facing significant leadership changes following the announcement that head coach Tomas Axnér will step down after the current season to focus on his role as the Swedish national team coach. The club has initiated a search for his successor, a process involving discussions between the players and the club owners.

Simultaneously, Jesper Jensen, the former Team Esbjerg coach currently with FTC in Hungary, has announced he will leave his position a year early this summer to return to Denmark for family reasons. This development has sparked speculation regarding a potential return to Team Esbjerg, though club chairman Bjarne Pedersen stated the news was unexpected.

On the pitch, Team Esbjerg remains undefeated in the Champions League after three matches. Ahead of their upcoming fixture against Buducnost, Axnér has cautioned his team against complacency, noting that despite their strong offensive record and top scorer Henny Reistad's performance, the Montenegrin side must be treated with respect.
