Team Hellas prepares for 2026 Mediterranean Games in Italy
Team Hellas has officially begun preparations for the 2026 Mediterranean Games, which are scheduled to take place in Taranto, Italy, from August 21 to September 3, 2026. The Greek delegation consists of 278 athletes competing across 29 different sports.
The squad features several high-profile Olympians and world champions, including Stefanos Ntouskos, Apostolos Christou, Zoi Fitsiou, Petros Gaitatzis, Dauren Kourovglieev, Thodoris Tselidis, Elisabet Tseltsidou, and Dora Goura. Other notable participants include world and European champions Maria Prevolaraki, Giorgos Kouyoumtsidis, and Emmanuela Katzouraki.
During an official photo session at the Hellenic Olympic Committee headquarters in Marousi, Mission Chief Antonis Nikolopoulos expressed the support of Committee President Isidoros Kouvelou. He emphasized that the Committee will provide continuous support to ensure optimal training and accommodation conditions for the athletes. The delegation is supported by the Public Power Corporation (PPC/DEI) as a platinum sponsor.
