Team Saskatchewan wins Canadian Senior Women’s Football gold

Team Saskatchewan won the gold medal at the Canadian Senior Women’s Football Nationals, defeating Quebec 24-3 in the championship game held at SMF Field in Saskatoon.

Saskatchewan secured the victory by generating nine turnovers and shutting out Quebec in the second half. Key plays included a 61-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Julia Smith to Shanelle Rioux, and two interception returns for touchdowns by linebacker Emmarae Dale, one of which spanned 114 yards.

This victory marks Saskatchewan's first national championship in ten years. Head coach Pat Barry praised the players' competitiveness and the significance of the win for the province's football program.
