Teatr Victoria Ruins to host folk and jazz musical events
The Ruins of Teatr Victoria in Gliwice will host a series of musical events throughout late August, featuring a blend of traditional folk, jazz, and contemporary styles.
As part of the TAURON Piątki Kultury series, August 21 will feature Simona De Rosa & Confusion Project, followed by Maciek Pysz featuring Daniele di Bonaventura and Yuri Goloubev. On August 28, the program includes Sam Kowalski, who performs minimalist interpretations of Polish village music, and the Kujawski Ansambl, which draws inspiration from archival recordings of Kujawy, Pałuk, and Kashubia.
Additionally, the third edition of the ETHO festival, titled ‘ETHO – music of roots in a contemporary approach,’ will take place from August 28 to 30. This event focuses on merging traditional melodies with modern instrumentation, electronics, and jazz. The festival lineup includes Tuleje, performing folk music from eastern Wielkopolska mixed with blues and improvisation, and Tercet Imperial, a Grand Prix winner of the Nowa Tradycja festival, which combines Radom region oberki with electronic and global influences. The festival will also feature workshops and discussions regarding the contemporary significance of traditional music.
