Teatre Defensora to become a multi-purpose cultural space

The Teatre Defensora is being planned as a versatile, modern cultural space designed to preserve the historical identity of its building. The reconstruction and rehabilitation proposal includes structural consolidation and adaptations to host a wide range of activities, such as theatrical performances, concerts, musical events, film screenings, dance shows, exhibitions, and educational activities.

During a recent meeting between the project's drafting team and municipal technicians, the proposal was discussed to resolve doubts and align criteria for the project's implementation. Mayor Miquel Nadal emphasized that the coordination between the drafting team and municipal technicians is essential to ensure the recovery of the theater is conducted with rigor, safety, and respect for its patrimonial value. Once technical considerations are integrated, the project will move toward a final execution plan, which will serve as the basis for seeking funding for the upcoming works.
