Teatri di Pietra festival kicks off summer across historic sites in Sicily

The Teatri di Pietra festival returns for its 2026 summer season, staging performances in a series of archaeological and historic venues across Sicily. In the province of Trapani, eight shows run from 27 July to 5 September at the Temple of Hera in the Selinunte archaeological park and the Cusa quarries, featuring productions such as “Del labirinto e altre storie”, a Beatles Jazz Tribute, Euripides’ “Le Troiane”, “Medea”, Shakespeare‑inspired pieces, and a reinterpretation of Collodi’s “Pinocchio”.

Meanwhile, the province of Agrigento hosts sixteen evening performances from 26 July to 27 August at the Eraclea Minoa archaeological area, the Ruins of the Mother Church in Montevago, and the Cathedral of Triokala in Caltabellotta. The programme includes the same “Del labirinto” dance‑theatre, works on war‑time women’s experiences, the Beatles tribute, “Medea”, a modern take on Aristophanes’ “Nuvole”, and the “Pinocchio” show, among others. Tickets are sold through Liveticket and Tickettando, with most shows beginning at 21:00.
