Teatro Boiardo to reopen in Scandiano after renovations

The Cinema Teatro Boiardo in Scandiano is scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, September 29, following summer renovation and modernization works. The reopening event will feature a concert by the Florestano youth orchestra from the Achille Peri – Claudio Merulo Conservatory, conducted by Gabrielangela Spaggiari. The musical program includes works by Gustav Mahler, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Antonín Dvořák, Dmitrij Šostakóvič, and Ennio Morricone.

The renovation project involved a total investment of 280,000 euros, supported by funding from the Emilia-Romagna Region. The upgrades focused on improving safety, accessibility, energy efficiency, and comfort. Key improvements include the installation of new velvet-covered seating in the stalls, which increased capacity by twelve seats, and a new lighting system featuring a “starry sky” effect in the hall and entrance areas.
