Teatro Carlos Gomes restores historic stage in Blumenau

The Teatro Carlos Gomes in Blumenau has completed a restoration project focused on its historic stage. The intervention, part of the ‘Reparo Palco Heinz Geyer’ project, primarily addressed the wooden floor to preserve its original architectural characteristics while improving safety and functionality for artists and technicians.

In addition to the floor, the renovation included a new rotunda curtain, a complete overhaul of the stage's rear door, and the recovery of dressing room doors and windows. The piano room also received new doors. To celebrate the improvements, the theater will host a free guided tour on October 31, 2026, allowing the public to access the backstage areas and the 12-meter diameter revolving stage that was originally inaugurated in 1942.
