Teatro Colón streams free concert of resident orchestra online

On Saturday, 1 August, at 17:00 local time, the centennial Teatro Colón will broadcast a free live gala of its resident orchestra via its YouTube channel and social‑media platforms. The program includes Richard Strauss’s *Don Quijote* variations (Op. 35) and Gustav Holst’s *The Planets* (Op. 32). The concert is conducted by Alejo Pérez, the theatre’s music director, with French cellist Aurélien Pascal as soloist and Freddy Varela Montero serving as concertino.
