Teatro Colsubsidio launches Afrodiáspora Festival in Bogotá featuring Seun Kuti, Yellowman and Alexis Play Big Band
The Teatro Colsubsidio announced the inaugural Afrodiáspora Festival, part of the Nación del Ritmo 2026 program, to be held over three consecutive nights in Bogotá, Colombia. The lineup includes Seun Kuti with Egypt 80 on Thursday, reggae legend Yellowman on Friday, and the Colombian ensemble Alexis Play Big Band on Saturday. The festival is designed as a sonic journey through the African diaspora, spanning Nigerian afro‑beat, Jamaican reggae and dancehall, and contemporary Pacific Colombian fusions. Organizers say the event “puts in value the contribution of African heritage to contemporary music and creates a space to recognize cultural diversity from a Latin‑American and global perspective.” The initiative also aims to strengthen Teatro Colsubsidio’s role as a cultural hub for high‑value artistic projects.
