Teatro Dante Palermo to reopen after 15 years

The historic Teatro Dante in Palermo’s Piazza Stazione Lolli is scheduled to reopen on October 31, 2026, following a 15-year closure. The reopening, marked by an inaugural event titled ‘La Première’, is supported by an investment from Gruppo Random.

The renovated venue will function as a multifunctional space designed to host a variety of activities. While the main hall can accommodate over 700 people for dinner shows, jazz nights, stand-up comedy, and private events, the facility will also serve as a literary café and conference center during the day. The theater has been equipped with modern professional audio, motorized lighting, laser effects, and large-format video projection.

Originally a cinema that transitioned into a theater in the 1977-1978 season, the Dante has hosted significant national figures, including Eduardo De Filippo. Due to its historical importance, the building was placed under cultural heritage protection by the Sicilian Region in 2017.
