Teatro de la Abadía hosts new productions and literary reflections

The Teatro de la Abadía in Madrid is hosting new theatrical productions and cultural reflections. Stage director Andrés Lima has recommended several literary works, including Gisèle Pelicot’s ‘Mi historia’, which provides a first-person account of her experiences and serves as a reflection on contemporary societal issues.

Additionally, the Seville-based company La Rara is presenting ‘Órgia’ at the theater. The production uses collective performance to explore mental health through a feminist lens, drawing on the testimonies of women once confined to the Miraflores asylum in Seville. The play aims to give voice to the suffering of stigmatized and institutionalized women by referencing ancient Greek collective rituals.
