Teatro del Giglio opens prose season with Dorian Gray adaptation

Teatro del Giglio in Lucca has inaugurated its prose season with a national premiere of 'The Picture of Dorian Gray'. Directed by Giancarlo Nicoletti, the production offers a contemporary reimagining of Oscar Wilde’s classic novel.

In this adaptation, Federica Luna Vincenti takes on the role of Dorian Gray in a gender-reversed performance, exploring themes of youth obsession and identity construction through modern lenses such as cameras and mobile phones. Alessio Vassallo performs as Lord Henry Wotton, while Giulio Forges Davanzati portrays the painter Basil Hallward. The production was realized in collaboration with Fondazione Toscana Spettacolo.
