Teatro dell’Opera di Roma announces ARIA SUR winners
To mark World Opera Day, the International Italo-Latin American Organization (IILA) and the Fondazione Teatro dell’Opera di Roma have announced the winners of the first edition of ARIA SUR musical perfection residencies. This cultural cooperation project aims to support the training, international mobility, and professional growth of young Latin American operatic talents.
The selected artists include soprano Belén Marín from Mexico, mezzo-soprano Dayana Lorente from Cuba, and tenor Iván Cardozo from Venezuela. In January 2027, the three performers will spend three weeks in Rome participating in advanced training through the “Fabbrica” Young Artist Program at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma.
Developed in collaboration with the “Fabbrica” Young Artist Program and with operational support from Ópera Latinoamérica (OLA), ARIA SUR seeks to establish a stable bridge between the Italian and Latin American opera systems, facilitating the exchange of skills and professional opportunities.
