Teatro Eliseo reopens in Rome after six years of inactivity

The historic Teatro Eliseo in Rome is set to reopen after six years of inactivity. The Piccolo Eliseo will inaugurate the new season on October 2, followed by the main hall on Via Nazionale on October 28. The theater is now managed by Viola Produzioni, a theatrical production center recognized by the Ministry of Culture, under the artistic direction of Alessandro Longobardi. The reopening follows approximately sixty days of work to ensure building safety, hire new staff, and program two halls with new productions.

In Naples, the theatrical company Officina Oltrescena will debut the production ‘Eleonora e il Sogno della Ragione’ at Masseria Luce on September 26 and 27. Directed by Marilena Zanniello, the play explores the life of Eleonora Pimentel Fonseca and the Neapolitan Revolution of the 1700s. The performance aims to promote cultural decentralization by utilizing the historic Masseria Luce venue to blend history, music, and drama.
