Veracruz municipalities announce infrastructure and budget updates

Municipalities in Veracruz are reporting on budget allocations and infrastructure progress. In Xico, the 2026 budget is set at approximately 102.5 million pesos, covering 80 planned works and actions. Major investments include 21 million pesos for municipal urbanization and over 20 million pesos for housing-related projects, specifically rainwater harvesting and sanitation systems. Other allocations include police salaries, ecological preservation, and waste management.

In Xalapa, Mayor Daniela Griego Ceballos reported that 23 public works projects have been completed, with 41 currently under construction and 18 more slated to begin. The administration is also managing 30 projects in the bidding phase. These efforts focus on paving, water and drainage networks, and urban development in response to citizen requests.

Additionally, in Mexicali, the Comisión Estatal de Servicios Públicos de Mexicali (CESPM) has announced a temporary closure of Calzada Castellón from August 28 to September 12 to facilitate repairs on a 24-inch sanitary collector.
