Teatro Liceo premieres Agatha Christie’s ‘La Ratonera’ with star‑studded Argentine cast
A new production of Agatha Christie’s classic mystery “La Ratonera” opens at Buenos Aires’s Teatro Liceo on 3 September. Directed and adapted by Manuel González Gil, the staging features original music by Martín Bianchedi and a detailed set that recreates the isolated Monkswell hostel.
The Argentine ensemble includes Carlos Belloso, Ludovico Di Santo, Romina Gaetani, Andrés Gil, Walter Quiroz, Carlos Santamaría and Malena Solda, with a special appearance by veteran actress Betiana Blum. The show is produced by Faroni, Juan Manuel Caballé and Tomás Rottemberg and will run Wednesday to Sunday.
The plot follows a group of strangers trapped by a snowstorm in the newly opened hostel, where a police sergeant warns that a murder linked to a London crime may claim another victim, turning the isolated setting into a tense whodunit.
