Teatro María Luisa in Mérida unveils diverse season featuring opera, flamenco and comedy

The municipal delegate of culture, Antonio Vélez, presented the September‑December 2026 program for the Teatro María Luisa in Mérida, Extremadura. The schedule aims to cement the theatre as a cultural hub, offering a mix of opera, flamenco, comedy, cinema and family shows.

Highlights include the Festival Cine Beat, a four‑week Flamenco Festival with performers such as Rancapino Chico, Macarena Ramírez and the Fiesta de la Bulería, and comedic acts by Ernesto Sevilla, David Suárez and Alberto San Juan. The season will close with the opera Madame Butterfly on 20 December, a circus‑humor show by Wilbur and a family musical version of Cinderella. Regional culture secretary José Luis Gil Soto and theatre coordinator Amalia Pérez attended the presentation, reaffirming regional support for Mérida’s cultural offerings.
