Teatro Massimo di Palermo dancer to perform at Arena di Verona

Alessandro Casà, a dancer from the Teatro Massimo di Palermo ballet company, has been invited as a guest principal dancer to perform the role of John in “Zorba the Greek” at the Arena di Verona. The performances are scheduled for August 25 and 26.

Marco Betta, superintendent of the Fondazione Teatro Massimo, expressed pride in the engagement, noting that it highlights the professional growth and quality of the Palermo-based company under the direction of Jean-Sébastien Colau and artistic director Alvise Casellati.

The production features choreography by Lorca Massine set to the music of Mikis Theodorakis. Other featured performers include Davide Buffon from the Slovenian National Theatre Maribor and Ionut-Andrei Dinita from the National Opera Bucharest.
