Teatro Massimo di Palermo launches 2026-2027 season subscriptions

The Fondazione Teatro Massimo di Palermo has launched its subscription campaign for the 2026-2027 season, marking the 130th anniversary of the theater and 30 years since its 1997 reopening. The upcoming program, running from November 2026 to December 2027, features an expanded lineup including 14 opera and ballet performances and 14 concerts. Notable productions include Verdi’s Falstaff directed by Ruggero Cappuccio, Macbeth directed by Riccardo Muti, and Tosca directed by Umberto Clerici. The season also includes dance productions and concerts featuring artists such as Daniil Trifonov and Giovanni Sollima.

To accommodate production needs, the theater is introducing new scheduling options, including a dedicated Verdi-themed subscription turn and a specialized school turn for students.

Other regional cultural events in Italy include the debut of the ‘Lecco Scapigliata’ tour, which saw high attendance at historic villas, and the launch of the ‘Riflessi culturali’ season at the Palacongressi in the Valle dei Templi, featuring works by Shakespeare and Pirandello. Additionally, the Proceno Musica Festival continues its second edition with jazz and swing performances.
