Teatro Massimo di Palermo secures 15.2 million euros in national funding

The Teatro Massimo di Palermo has been confirmed as the leading lyric-symphonic foundation in Southern Italy following the 2026 allocation of the National Fund for Live Performance (FNSV) by the Italian Ministry of Culture.

The foundation has been allocated 15.2 million euros, marking the fourth-highest amount among the twelve lyric-symphonic foundations that do not possess a special organizational form. It follows the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, and Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.

This allocation is based on the average percentages identified over the previous three-year period, rewarding the continuity of the institution's activities. Roberto Lagalla, President of the Teatro Massimo Foundation and Mayor of Palermo, stated that the result recognizes the central role the institution plays in the Italian cultural landscape.
