Teatro Metropólitan to Host Progressive Rock Symphonic Concert

On Friday 14 August 2026 at 20:30, the historic Teatro Metropólitan in Mexico City will present “Progresivo: Concierto Sinfónico”, a concert that blends progressive‑rock repertoire with a full symphonic orchestra.

More than 50 musicians, singers and performers will take the stage, including the Mex Pops Orquesta under Caesar Uriel Hernández, a rock ensemble and a vocal ensemble. The program spans classic acts such as Pink Floyd, Yes, King Crimson, Jethro Tull, Rush, The Alan Parsons Project, Toto, Led Zeppelin and Queen, and moves to modern groups like Dream Theater, Tool, Opeth, Porcupine Tree and Steven Wilson. The event is produced by Odissea and Shock Producciones in collaboration with Symphonic Experience. The 3,165‑seat venue, opened in 1943 and renovated in 1996, aims to reconstruct the works rather than merely tribute them.
