Teatro Municipal of Antofagasta reports sold‑out concerts while alumnus secures master studies in Germany

The Teatro Municipal of Antofagasta experienced a record week as all four paid symphonic performances scheduled between Thursday and Sunday sold out, according to executive director Marcos Celedón. He highlighted the shift from a tradition of free cultural events, noting that ticket revenue supports local artists, staff and future programming, including a weekend series and a Children’s Day concert by the Orquesta Académica de Antofagasta. Celedón also addressed a recent ticketing error, confirming refunds and rescheduling for affected patrons.

In related cultural news, former scholarship recipient Rodrigo Gonzalo Pandorfa Garrido completed a five‑year violin program at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt in Weimar, Germany, and has been admitted to a two‑year master’s program at the same institution. Pandorfa will give his graduation recital on 21 July. His training included summer courses at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg, the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien, and participation in the Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute in Toronto, Canada.
