Teatro Municipal Sérgio Porto hosts Kafka adaptation ‘A Construção’

The play ‘A Construção’, an adaptation of Franz Kafka’s unfinished novella, is set to return for a short run at the Teatro Municipal Sérgio Porto from October 2 to October 18. Directed by Beto Brown and adapted by Pedro Emanuel, the production features Marcelo Olinto in the lead role.

In this solo performance, Olinto portrays a badger obsessively maintaining an underground burrow. The play uses the animal's struggle for survival and its claustrophobic environment as a metaphor for human needs, such as shelter and the fear of death. Olinto noted that the text serves as a critique of the bourgeoisie and self-centeredness.
