Teatro Municipal to host free screening of Lucrecia Martel film

The Teatro Municipal will host a film screening as part of a new cinema cycle, beginning Thursday, August 20, at 20:30. The event features the 2008 feature film ‘La mujer sin cabeza’, written and directed by Salta-born filmmaker Lucrecia Martel.

Admission to the screening is free and open to the community. The film, rated for audiences 13 and older, is considered a significant work of contemporary Argentine cinema. It follows a woman from the northern Argentine bourgeoisie who experiences alienation following an incident on a road in Salta. The production involved the Spanish company El Deseo, owned by Agustín and Pedro Almodóvar, and received international recognition, including a Palme d'Or nomination at the Cannes Film Festival.
