Italy theater and cinema seasons launch across various regions
Numerous cultural institutions across Italy are launching new theatrical and cinematic seasons for the 2026/2027 period.
In Naples, the Teatro Nuovo will host Filippo Nigro in “Il Presidente” by Davide Carnevali, an exploration of political power and personal responsibility. Meanwhile, the Teatro Delle Arti in Salerno begins its season with “Nemici come prima” directed by Francesco Procopio. Other regional highlights include the reopening of the Teatro Nino Buttafuoco in Nissoria and the return of the “L’isola che c’è” festival in Malfa, Salina.
Cinema offerings include the ihBS Movie Night in Reggio Calabria, which features free screenings of international films in their original language at the Auditorium Santa Caterina. In Savigliano, the Teatro Milanollo has opened ticket sales for its “Domeniche a teatro” series, while the Teatro Orfeo in Taranto will feature Massimiliano Gallo in a tribute to Eduardo De Filippo.
Educational and community-focused projects are also active, such as the “Bestiario Immaginato” in Friuli Venezia Giulia, which uses participatory theater to engage students with themes of food and culture.
