Teatro Pergolesi inaugurates season with Puccini’s Trittico
The Teatro Pergolesi in Jesi has inaugurated its 59th Traditional Lyric Season with a historic performance of Giacomo Puccini’s ‘Trittico’. This marks the first time in the theater's history that all three one-act operas—Il Tabarro, Suor Angelica, and Gianni Schicchi—have been performed together in a single evening.
While the theater has staged Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi individually in previous decades, Il Tabarro makes its absolute debut on the Jesi stage. The production follows the original sequence intended by the composer, utilizing the version curated by Ettore Panizza.
The production features direction by Paul-Émile Fourny, who uses water as a recurring visual and dramaturgical symbol to connect the three distinct settings. Musical direction is provided by Stefano Vignati conducting the FORM Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana. The performances are scheduled for October 9 and 11, 2026.
