Tropea Film Festival concludes with awards for Squali and Il Comico
The fourth edition of the Tropea Film Festival has concluded in Tropea, Italy, celebrating various achievements in Italian cinema. The event featured prominent guests including Marco Giallini and Desirée Popper.
In the official competition, the award for Best Feature Film was given to ‘Squali’ directed by Daniele Barbiero. The Best Short Film award went to ‘Il Comico’ by Andrea Belcastro. Additionally, the festival held a contest titled ‘Un corto per Tropea’ for young filmmakers, where ‘L’obiettivo di un’estate’ won the entry-level category and ‘Il fasto mancato’ by Mattia Filice won the professional category.
The film ‘Tradimento e Potere’, written and directed by Stefano Vinciguerra, was also a finalist among the 21 selected feature films. Although it did not win the top prize, the production team expressed satisfaction with reaching the final stage of the festival.
