Teatro TotalEnergies hosts ‘Fim de Partida’ starring Marco Nanini
The play ‘Fim de Partida’ (Endgame), written by Irish playwright Samuel Beckett, is returning to the stage at Teatro TotalEnergies in Rio de Janeiro starting August 20. Following a successful run in São Paulo with sold-out sessions, this production features an ensemble cast including Marco Nanini, Guilherme Weber, Helena Ignez, and Ary França.
Directed by Rodrigo Portella and produced by Fernando Libonati, the play explores a post-apocalyptic setting through the characters Hamm and Clov. The production offers multiple layers of interpretation: a symbiotic and tragic relationship between the leads, a political allegory regarding tyranny and militarism, and a metalinguistic exploration of theater itself, supported by Daniela Thomas’s scenography.
