Teatro Verdi hosts British music concert in Sassari

The Teatro Verdi in Sassari will host “Passato e presente,” the second installment of the “Viaggio in Inghilterra” cultural series, on October 20. Part of the 2026 Salotti culturali, the event focuses on the dialogue between English musical traditions and 20th-century compositions.

Directed by Andrea Ivaldi, the performance features Alessandro Deiana on guitar, Salvatore Rea on viola, and the Orchestra Teatro e/o Musica. The program explores the connection between eras through the works of John Dowland, Benjamin Britten, and Malcolm Arnold. Specifically, the concert will feature Dowland’s compositions from the 16th and 17th centuries, such as “Come, Heavy Sleep,” alongside Britten’s modern reflections on Dowland’s legacy and Malcolm Arnold’s Serenade for guitar and strings.
