Teatro Verdi hosts British music concert series in Sassari

The Teatro Verdi in Sassari is hosting a new series of cultural salons titled ‘Viaggio in Inghilterra’ (Journey to England). Organized by the Cooperativa Teatro e/o Musica and curated by Andrea Ivaldi, the program features five concerts running from October 6 to November 20.

The series explores British music from the late 19th to the mid-20th century, tracing the transition from traditional styles to modern influences. The inaugural concert, ‘Pomp and Circumstance’, is dedicated to Edward Elgar and will feature his Quintet in A minor, op. 84, performed by the Quartetto Teatro e/o Musica and Andrea Ivaldi on piano.

Subsequent performances will highlight various composers and themes, including John Dowland, Benjamin Britten, Malcolm Arnold, Constant Lambert, and Ralph Vaughan Williams. The events are designed as interactive salons, incorporating discussions with music historians and experts to provide context for the musical pieces.
