Teatro Verdi in Salerno to host La Vedova Allegra

The Teatro Verdi in Salerno will present Franz Lehár’s operetta, “La Vedova Allegra,” from November 3 to November 8. The production marks a new collaboration between the theater and the Giuseppe Martucci State Conservatory of Music.

Massimiliano Gallo, a Neapolitan actor, makes his debut as an opera director with this production, which sets the story in the 1930s. Gallo will also perform the role of the servant Njegus. The musical direction will be led by Maestro Iacopo Sipari, with Francesco Aliberti directing the chorus and Alfredo Troisi managing sets and costumes.

The performance schedule includes morning shows for schools from November 3 to 5, evening performances on November 6 and 7, and a final matinee on November 8.
