Teatro Verdi launches season celebrating 20 years of direction

Teatro Verdi in Montecatini Terme has launched its 2026-2027 season, marking the 20th anniversary of director Matteo Cardelli’s leadership. The upcoming schedule features over 70 events, including musicals, plays, comedy, concerts, and talk shows.

The season opens with the family-oriented musical ‘Viaggio in Oceania.’ Notable performers include Paolo Ruffini, who will present 12 shows including ‘Le donne non fanno ridere’ and a new production of ‘Io doppio.’ The musical lineup features productions such as ‘Gloria’ directed by Umberto Tozzi, ‘Frida,’ ‘Caravaggio,’ ‘Amélie,’ ‘Stranger Things – Back to Hawkins,’ and ‘Sister Act.’

Comedy offerings include Maccio Capatonda and Raul Cremona, while the prose selection features Paolo Genovese directing ‘Perfetti Sconosciuti’ and performances by Iva Zanicchi and Chiara Francini. The theater remains a significant cultural hub in Tuscany and a filming location for Rai productions.
