Brazil municipalities advance cultural planning and funding
Various Brazilian municipalities are implementing diverse cultural initiatives and administrative planning. In Porto Velho, the municipal government is coordinating with security forces and carnival blocks to organize the 2027 Carnival, focusing on establishing official rules and calendars. The city will also celebrate its 112th anniversary with national musical acts Mastruz com Leite and Mara Pavanelly, funded through a cooperation agreement between the city, Sesc, and the Ministry of Culture.
Other regional cultural developments include Niterói opening a R$ 2.74 million fund for various artistic projects via the Aldir Blanc Policy, and the launch of the Conexões Culturais festival in the Vila dos Pescadores. In São Paulo state, the CULTSP PRO program is conducting regional dance showcases across ten cities, while the city of São Paulo is hosting free theatrical performances at the Teatro Alfredo Mesquita.
