Teatro Vittoria hosts Italian debut of Capitan Amazing

The polyphonic monologue ‘Capitan Amazing’, written by British author Alistair McDowall, is set to debut at the Teatro Vittoria in Rome from September 28 to 30, 2026. The production is translated and directed by Marco Maria Casazza and stars actor Stefano Annoni.

Previously acclaimed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and London’s Soho Theatre, the play follows Mark, a father who creates the superhero persona ‘Capitan Amazing’ for his daughter, Emily. As Emily grows, the narrative blurs the lines between Mark’s real-world struggles and the fantastical adventures of his superhero alter-ego. The performance utilizes a non-linear structure where Annoni portrays multiple characters to depict a journey that is both comedic and emotional.
