Teatrul EXCELSIOR opens 2026–2027 season with ‘Great Expectations’

Teatrul EXCELSIOR is launching its 2026–2027 season with a production of ‘Great Expectations’ by Neil Bartlett, based on the novel by Charles Dickens. Directed by Andrei Huțuleac, the play explores themes of aspiration, identity, and social mobility through a contemporary lens.

Pre-premiere performances are scheduled for September 5 and 6, with the official premiere set for September 30 and October 1 at the ‘Ion Lucian’ Hall. The new season will feature a mix of recent productions, reinterpreted classics, musicals, and contemporary dramaturgy, including projects designed to involve adolescents and young people in theatre life.

In addition to the new production, the theatre will bring back popular repertoire pieces, such as the musical ‘The Addams Family’, directed and choreographed by Răzvan Mazilu, which returns to the stage on September 8 and 9.
