Třebíč Hospital introduces heated phototherapy bed for newborn care

The Hospital in Třebíč, Czech Republic, has acquired a modern heated newborn bed equipped with integrated LED phototherapy. The device provides a warmed mattress, electronic temperature regulation, touch controls, an Apgar timer, and an alarm system, enabling precise care and safe monitoring of infants.

The bed, priced at 320,000 Czech crowns, was partially funded by the energy company TTS energo, which contributed 250,000 crowns. Hospital director Lukáš Kettner highlighted that the equipment improves thermal comfort for newborns and allows immediate treatment of neonatal jaundice on the ward. By 30 July, the hospital recorded the birth of 459 infants, underscoring the demand for enhanced neonatal facilities.
