Instituto Tecnológico de Cancún celebrates 40th anniversary

The Instituto Tecnológico de Cancún is celebrating its 40th anniversary, marking four decades of academic contribution to the development of Quintana Roo. Founded in 1986 as an extension of the Instituto Tecnológico de Chetumal, the institution has grown from offering only three academic programs to its current portfolio of 11 undergraduate degrees and three postgraduate programs.

During the commemorative events, local officials including Governor Mara Lezama and Municipal President Ana Paty Peralta recognized the institution's role in training professionals for key sectors such as hospitality, finance, and business. The school currently maintains its highest enrollment in history, with over 4,600 students and more than 10,000 graduates to date.

The Legislature of Social Justice also honored the institute by presenting a commemorative plaque and Decree 244, recognizing its impact on the social and economic growth of the region. Director Carlos Tiburcio Martínez Martínez accepted the honors on behalf of the faculty and student body.
