Violence reported in Guerrero communities and Valle del Cauca

In the Montaña region of Guerrero, Mexico, more than 30 men from Cuyuxtláhuac reportedly entered the neighboring community of Cruz Fandango on August 26. Residents reported harassment and intimidation, with some individuals allegedly measuring houses and land for redistribution. This follows a history of violence in the area, including the burning and looting of homes, a municipal office, and a primary school since June.

In the Valle del Cauca region of Colombia, authorities are investigating a series of violent crimes. On August 25, two men, Víctor Antonio Sánchez Rodríguez and Diego Alejandro Herrera Agudelo, were killed in an ambush on the Cartago-Ansermanuevo road. Additionally, 21-year-old Anyely Tatiana Rivera was shot and killed in the rural area of Ansermanuevo on August 24. Investigators are looking into potential links between her death and the killing of her partner earlier in August.
