Tech and consulting firms pivot strategies to adapt to AI disruption

Major software and consulting firms are adapting their business models to counter the perceived threat of AI-driven disruption to the SaaS and professional services sectors.

CRM providers Salesforce and HubSpot are implementing strategies to integrate advanced AI. By opening their user interfaces to AI companies like Anthropic, they aim to maximize the utility of the data stored within their systems. While Salesforce has seen a stock recovery, HubSpot has faced market challenges as it pursues an ‘AI-native CRM’ approach.

In the consulting sector, Accenture reported financial results that exceeded market expectations, leading to a 16% surge in its stock price. The results suggest that rather than replacing human workers, AI is driving demand for professional services to help companies implement and utilize complex AI systems. This trend has also benefited other IT service firms like Cognizant, which saw a subsequent rise in stock value.
