Tech billionaires lose $130 billion in single day

The world's six wealthiest individuals saw a combined loss of approximately $130 billion in a single day following a sharp decline in major technology stocks. This market downturn was driven by investor concerns regarding the long-term profitability of massive investments in artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Elon Musk experienced the largest individual decline, with his wealth decreasing by roughly $74 billion. His companies, Tesla and SpaceX, saw stock declines of 2% and nearly 9% respectively. Despite SpaceX reporting a 161% year-over-year revenue increase, investors remain focused on cash flow challenges and potential merger discussions with Tesla.

Other significant losses included Jeff Bezos, who lost an estimated $11 billion as Amazon shares fell nearly 5%. Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin lost a combined $15 billion following a more than 3% drop in Alphabet shares. Mark Zuckerberg and Michael Dell also saw substantial reductions in their net worth as the broader tech sell-off continued.
