Tech companies debut new hardware for AI assistants
Major technology companies are expanding the accessibility of AI assistants through new hardware interfaces. At the Snapdragon Summit 2026, Memories.ai introduced Luci, an AI assistant designed to provide a continuous memory system across multiple devices, including smartphones, PCs, and smart glasses. Unlike traditional chatbots that rely on session-based context, Luci aims to create a unified memory of a user's real-world experiences and digital activities. To ensure privacy and efficiency, the system is designed to process data directly on-device using Snapdragon processors.
Simultaneously, Meta unveiled the Muse Charm at Meta Connect 2026. This compact, keychain-sized device allows users to interact with the Muse AI assistant via voice and a small display without needing a smartphone. The Muse assistant is being developed as an agent capable of performing tasks such as sending emails, planning, and shopping. Meta's strategy suggests a move toward AI becoming a ubiquitous interface that exists across various forms, including smartphones, smart glasses, and small wearable accessories.
