Tech giants join Busan's InnoAsia 2026 program to integrate AI and film
The Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM), held during the Busan International Film Festival, is launching InnoAsia 2026. This program focuses on the convergence of film and emerging technologies, featuring major industry participants including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google DeepMind, Kling AI, and Alibaba Group.
In collaboration with marketing agency Innocean and the Producers Guild of Korea, the ACFM is also introducing the Cinema by Brand 2026 competition. This initiative aims to connect brand clients with filmmakers to transform traditional advertising into cinematic short films. This year’s theme is inspired by Hanwha Group’s “Space Solar Power” project, with winners receiving production funding and international showcase opportunities.
The program also highlights a wide array of technological and content-production partnerships. Participants include Netflix’s VFX studio Eyeline Studios, BytePlus, Alibaba Cloud, and the Korean Film Archive’s VFX trading platform, i. AM. The event will feature sessions on AI-driven cinematic possibilities and the growing microdrama business, involving international entities such as France’s Atlas V and various microdrama platforms.
