Tech3 MotoGP team eyes Luca Marini as it ends KTM‑handled rider contracts
Guenther Steiner, CEO of Red Bull KTM Tech3, publicly distanced himself from the contract dispute involving Spanish rider Maverick Viñales. Steiner said he has no involvement in the disagreement between Viñales and KTM, noting that the contract KTM offered for 2025 was later declared invalid.
Steiner announced that, moving forward, all rider contracts will be managed directly by Tech3 rather than through KTM, marking a break from the previous arrangement. He also confirmed that fellow rider Enea Bastianini will leave the team after securing a deal with Trackhouse.
For the 2025 lineup, Tech3 is focusing on experienced riders. The primary target for a seat is Italian Luca Marini, with whom Steiner has held talks in Assen. The second seat is expected to be contested between Moto2 riders Senna Agius and Manu González, as the team ruled out fielding two rookies.
